PATCH for Providers
Virtual AND in-person workshops available FREE OF CHARGE!!
In this 90-minute workshop, PATCH Teen Educators share their authentic insights into the concerns, preferences, and realities of today's youth in health care settings. Participants are asked to reflect on their own policies and practice and are challenged to consider ways in which they could be more youth-friendly. Health care providers from a variety of fields are encouraged to attend and participate in this workshop.
As a result of this educational activity learners will be able to:
Discuss and value the importance of adolescent concerns, attitudes, and preferences in health care settings.
Describe ways to provide high-quality, youth-friendly health care services.
Develop confidence and skills to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with teens.
Advocate for and effectively communicate about appropriate youth-friendly health care services among the health care team.
Workshops are valued at $500 but we may be able to waive the workshop fee or offer a lower fee based on a sliding scale.*
Please reach out to PATCH Staff at email@example.com or 608.251.0139 ext 4 if you have any additional questions about workshop pricing or scheduling. We'd be happy to work with you to make sure PATCH messaging is accessible to you and your colleagues!
"THE PATCH WORKSHOP WAS VERY INFORMATIVE AND THOUGHT PROVOKING. IT REALLY SHED LIGHT ON THE TEEN PERSPECTIVE AND IGNITED A PASSION TO MAKE SURE THEY TRULY UNDERSTAND THEIR RIGHTS AND FEEL SAFE, PROTECTED, AND EDUCATED."

PATCH for Teens: Peer-to-Peer is a 60-minute workshop led by PATCH Teen Educators. It is intended to be delivered outside of a typical school classroom setting (e.g., health fairs, conferences, youth group meetings, student organizations/clubs, and other places young people gather to learn from one another). The primary goal is to empower young people to begin managing their own health care experiences, and equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate and advocate for youth-friendly services.
Participants will understand the importance of learning to manage their own health care experiences.
Participants will explore steps they can take to make sure they’re getting the care they need and deserve.
Participants will gain new skills to help them advocate for their own health and well-being.
PATCH for Teens: Peer-to-Peer Workshops are valued at $150 but we are happy to to waive the workshop fee or offer a lower fee based on a sliding scale.**
**Workshop fees help cover costs for participant materials, staff preparation time, Teen Educator training and time, local travel and program evaluation and improvement. Workshops outside of an existing PATCH program area may be charged an additional travel fee.
