PATCH Youth Advocacy Fellowship
Social & Emotional Health

The PATCH Social Emotional Health Fellowship launched in 2021, focused on responding to the social, emotional, and mental health needs of youth as a critical COVID-19 response effort. This Fellowship is supported by the Wisconsin Partnership Program and is made up of Youth Advocates from across Wisconsin, each of whom bring diverse perspectives and passions to health advocacy work.

Akhil, 17

Hi, my name is Akhil and I go by he/him pronouns. I am a senior at Hamilton high School in Sussex. Two fun facts about me are that my favorite show is “How to Get Away With Murder" and I aspire to be a pediatrician when I'm older. I joined PATCH with the hopes of being able to gain a better understanding about various stigmas in mental health, and how I can help spread awareness about those stigmas within my own community.

Hi! My name is Coral, my pronouns are she/her. I am an 8th grader at Walden III High School, I also live in Racine. I love to read, travel, dance, and play volleyball in my free time. I joined PATCH to make a difference in my community and help younger people with their mental health!

Hi, my name is Devon, I am a sophomore at Memorial High School, I use he/him/his pronouns, and I have been openly gay for two and a half years. I love to read, sing, write songs, play piano, take photos, draw dresses, and make friendship bracelets. I have a dog named Kcora, and a cat named Catniss.  I joined PATCH because I believe in the goal to advocate for LGBTQ rights, and mental health awareness.

Hello, my name is Garv. I use he/him pronouns and I am a senior in high school. I love playing sports and listening to music. I also fiddle and create my own tunes on the violin to calm my mind. In the future, I wish to become a physician. As such, I joined PATCH to advocate for the health and wellbeing of those in need.

Hi! My name is Jamillah, I’m a junior at Walden lll, and my pronouns are she/her. I am turning 17 soon and I live in Racine WI. I have two cats and love animals. In my free time, I enjoy running, reading, playing golf, and spending time with friends and family. I am so excited to be a part of PATCH for the second year in a row to continue my community advocacy project, and learn new was to be a better advocate for my community!

I’m Liam I use he/him, pronouns, I’m 14 years old and I’m a freshman at West De Pere high-school. I play hockey for the voyager’s and my favorite thing to do is surf. With that I also like to travel (usually somewhere with a beach) I always travel with my cousin and my family. I joined PATCH because it looked like a really amazing and fun opportunity to help both myself and others in my community with mental health.

My name is Nick. I use He/Him pronouns. I live in Verona with My Mom, Dad and Brother Ricky. I love to play sports and video games but, I typically play football and basketball. I love my dog more than anything. I joined patch to help people who are struggling with homelessness and mental health problems.

Hi, my name is Owen and I use he/him pronouns. I am 16 years old and I’m a junior at North High School. I love camping, hiking, snowmobiling, and listening to music. I joined PATCH because I wanted to learn more about Covid-19 and the summer fellowship seemed like a perfect place to do that. Throughout my time at PATCH I also became passionate about mental health.

Hello there, my name is Rachel my pronouns are she/her. I am 16 and a sophomore in high school. I am an avid marvel fan, my favorite character is Magneto. Fun fact the picture of me was taken when I was stuck on the Secret Life of pets ride in Universal Hollywood California. I joined PATCH to learn how to advocate for my friends and family, and gain confidence to speak up about my issues.

Hi everyone! My name is Sophia and I am a junior attending Appleton North high school. I adore being in nature and enjoy skiing, swimming, and playing tennis just to be outdoors! My love for activism as both a career choice and interest have inspired me to pursue PATCH! I am excited to see the connections I make and skills I acquire through this exciting opportunity this year!!

Hi! I'm Suzannah and my pronouns are she/they. I live in Madison, WI, and I'm a senior at Laurel Springs School. I love hiking, playing my electric guitar, and making collages. I have two cats, Claude and Lily, and a dog named Bogart. I joined PATCH to help raise awareness for teens with chronic health conditions and to learn more about the healthcare advocacy system.

Hi! My name is Yasmeen, and I am a current high school junior in Racine, Wisconsin. I love being able to help others, and I hope to channel that passion into PATCH and learn how to advocate for myself as well as other peers, adolescents, and teens.  I love cats, reading, running, and being able to build strong connections with the people I love!
