Workshops available across Wisconsin!

PATCH for Providers

Virtual and In-Person Workshops Available!

Providers

In this 90-minute workshop, PATCH Teen Educators share their authentic insights into the concerns, preferences, and realities of today's youth in health care settings. Participants are asked to reflect on their own policies and practice and are challenged to consider ways in which they could be more youth-friendly. Health care providers from a variety of fields are encouraged to attend and participate in this workshop.

As a result of this educational activity learners will be able to:

  • Describe the concerns, preferences, and realities of young people in health care settings.

  • Value diversity among teens and recognize the challenges and opportunities this poses in health care settings.

  • Explain ways to provide high-quality, youth-friendly health care services.

  • Develop confidence and skills to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with teens.

  • Advocate for and effectively communicate about appropriate youth-friendly health care services among the health care team.

Workshops are valued at $500 but we may be able to waive the workshop fee or offer a lower fee based on a sliding scale.*

Please reach out to PATCH Staff at staff@wipatch.org if you have any additional questions about workshop pricing or scheduling. We'd be happy to work with you to make sure PATCH messaging is accessible to you and your colleagues!

PATCH for Teens: Getting the Care You Need

Wisconsin PATCH Teen Educator Programs are dedicated to educating and empowering youth across the county regardless of organization budget. If you are interested in a PATCH for Teens workshop but have limited funds, contact us anyway!

Sponsorship Opportunity!

Wisconsin PATCH relies on community support and organizational partnerships to offer some PATCH for Teens: Peer-to-Peer workshops at low to no cost to fellow youth-serving organizations.

Partner with us to sponsor a workshop and ensure all adolescents are provided education that will help them advocate for their own health and well-being.

PATCH for Teens: Peer-to-Peer is a 60-minute workshop led by PATCH Teen Educators. It can be a great compliment to any high school health class and is ideal for delivery outside of a typical school classroom setting (e.g., health fairs, conferences, youth group meetings, student organizations/clubs, and other places young people gather to learn from one another). The primary goal is to empower young people to begin managing their own health care experiences, and equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate and advocate for youth-friendly services.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will understand the importance of learning to manage their own health care experiences.

  • Participants will explore steps they can take to make sure they’re getting the care they need and deserve.

  • Participants will gain new skills to help them advocate for their own health and well-being.

PATCH for Teens: Peer-to-Peer Workshops are valued at $150 but we are happy to to waive the workshop fee or offer a lower fee based on a sliding scale.**
